Teaching and learning based on flexible and technologically-enhanced learning spaces.
The Lilley Centre at Brisbane Grammar School
The Lilley Centre is named after Sir Charles Lilley, a Premier and Chief Justice of Queensland during the late 1800s, a passionate advocate for education and an inaugural Trustee of the Brisbane Grammar School Board when the School first opened. He was a visionary in the field of education, and not only was instrumental in establishing Brisbane Grammar School but also in looking into the establishment of a university in Brisbane, so it is a fitting reminder of his vision and leadership to have our new Centre named in his honour.
The Senior Library is located in The Lilley Centre, a state-of-the-art building equipped with the latest technology, wifi access, study rooms, quiet areas and printing and photocopying stations. The learning developed here will equip students with the skills they will need to become flexible and innovative, reflective and critical thinkers.
Since the new Senior Library opened in March 2010, it has been extremely popular with the students. With well over 1,200 visits per day, the Library has proved to be an important social space – both for collaborating academically and collaborating socially.

Meet the Library Staff
Our skilled and talented staff can help you with your latest assignment, navigate media and electronic collections, or just recommend an awesome book to read. Our staff work across our three libraries - Senior (Years 9-12), Centenary (Years 7-8) and Middle School (Years 5-6).
As well as providing a wonderful book and eBook collection, media support and equipment the library staff run a number of clubs from the libraries ranging from Book Clubs, Strategic Games and Maker-Spaces.
Our libraries are busy and dynamic learning spaces with strong reading and information skills programs and a strong emphasis on collaboration and group work. They are very much a vital and integral part of the school for both students and staff.
