The Centenary Library has just adopted a new mascot, Grumpy Cat and he is being made feel very welcome. He has sat with students as they do their homework or read a book and has even had a car made for him. Come in and say hello to Grumpy Cat and maybe even give him a hug.
Two Year 5 boys have shown leadership by beginning the Pixel Papercraft activity during Wednesday lunchtimes. This is a fun activity where boys can cut out and make minecraft figures. Well done, Tom and Tom!
On Wednesday night a group of BGS students and staff attended a live filming of the ABC television show 'The Book Club' in Toowoomba for 'ABC On The Road'. They thoroughly enjoyed the experience and were lucky enough to chat to Jennifer Byrne afterwards.

Pauline McLeod from Riverbend books visited BGS on Tuesday to talk about some of the new books available in the library that the Year 9 students can use for their upcoming book trailer assignment. To your right you will find just a few of the libraries favorite books you can use for your book trailer unit.
Today at lunch, the Lunchbox Club boys shared an online conversation with a trainer from Binumi.
Binumi is a new program 'on trial' in the library that can facilitate making movies effectively and quickly for school based tasks.

Each week the BGS Chess boys are coached in the library, and each day they play endless games of chess. Recently, 16 of our boys competed in the third round of the Brisbane Secondary Schools Chess Championships. The boys won 22 medals, and each took home at least one. Our Premier team is now the Brisbane Secondary Schools Champion Chess team for 2015, and our top 2 teams have been invited to compete at the State Finals next term.
